I'm paying $3.00 a gallon up in southern NY, next cheapest price I could find was $9.99.... What I would give for
Try augmenting Tyler, It may save you some on bleach cost and waiting for deliveries.
Augmenting Method for 3% Roof Cleaning Solution
This mix ratio will clean as effeciently as the traditional mix above but with far less liquid bleach and far less salt. Less salt means less plant damages. The net bleach savings per 100 gallon mix can be up to $70.00. See SoftWash Systems Chemical Mixology Training Module for a one hour educational presentation on mixing soft washing chemicals and saving time and money on soft washing jobs.
Add Water To The Tank First. (100 gallon tank example)
Water
70 Gallons
**Liquid Bleach (SH 10%)
20 Gallons
**Powder Bleach (CH 68%)
100 Dry US Ounces
Green Wash
64 Liquid US Ounces
Completed 100 Gallon Cleaning Solution
**Use both liquid and powder bleach in this example.

Yes if you use it double the bleach ratios because the clorox will be weak.

IM new But can't you just use Bleach from the super market? some of that goes for $1-2 on sale even cheaper sometimes.

Bleach from super mkt (clorox) is 1/3 the strength vs. pool bleach.

Yes, you have to triple the mixology formulas which is a total waste :)

Was at Target today and noticed that Clorox and Target's brand are now selling "Concentrated Bleach". 8.25% for $2.99/gal (target brand). Still a bit pricey but in a pinch...

That would make a great picture.
I was paying over $6/gallon of 12.5% but worked out my storage issues and now dropped it to $2.15 and Univar makes deliveries 3 days weekly so I'm never but a day or so away from SH.

Gregg, how far away is Univar from you? Do you find that their SH is as strong as it's supposed to be? I wonder how we could know for sure. Wish there were such a thing as a litmus paper dip stick for it. Sort of like in one of those pool water test kits, but designed to tell you exactly what % strength you have when you dip it into the barrel.
Anyone know of such a tool?

I ordered it from Univar out of Atlanta but it looks like it shipped from an Olin plant in AL. Given that they deliver 3x a week to my town I would assume it's on the fresh side. I have not transfered it out of the 53 gallon drums but i will this week and see how "slippery" it makes my fingers which is a good indication. They say it's 12% but the paperwork says it can range between 12-16%. It's interesting though because the drums don't have 1791 markings on it which I thought odd but it's SH.

It's not apparent on the drums at least not like I've seen on the smaller ones I've gotten from the cleaning supply store ..but the shipping manifest lists it as UN 1791.
Thanks AC!
On another bleach subject. Given that the residue with CH seems to be the biggest negative for people is it possible to manufacture and do you see having enough demand for a 100% CH (no additive) product line where we would no longer have the residue issue. It seems to me that if that could be achieved we could eliminate so many issues, make a complete move away from SH and drive a nail in the whole negative bleach spin.

So where is this going to be discussed Wednesday? The Order of the Compass Rose? Can't wait to hear more about it later, once the information filters down to my level.

You've got my attention! I know that we can pre-mix CH in a cone storage tank in the shop and bleed off the residue from the bottom but then we are still dealing with transport of liquid bleach and limited to 119gal on the truck. If the mix could be easily filtered to remove the reisdue or greatly reduce it that would be fantastic.
Looking forward to hearing more!!

Hey guys I was wanting to see what the price range is for sh out there. We are paying $185 for a 53 gallon drum delivered. It seems very expensive, it works out to be the same price for a tote as well. I have talked to a few different distributors and its all the same. Our sh costs are up over $50 a drum from about a year and half ago. Can we get together and get a better price on the east coast? Not sure just throwing it out there. Maybe I am in a unique area.

I cut a deal with a local pool company and they charge me $108.00 per 55 gallon with no barrel deposits. They deliver it, unload it and stack it in my pole barn every week. It took some shopping around but that is the best I could come up with here.
