Yes I do live in the Kingwood area. I have driven all over Houston for job's. Sometimes driving 50-100 miles. I price the jobs via google earth, and price it accordingly for the trip and the job. This one worked out great as I am going back to do her roof and also got a couple neighbors while I was there.

Stay out of my area Doug. :)
Marcus, you know we work all of Houston and profit just fine. If I drive to conroe for $1800 and you are in katy and make the same $1800 I lose $20 for labor and about $25-$30 in gas for the windshield time. My profit margin covers well more than the $50. Not many people can stay in a 20 mile radius and stay busy.

Scott, your repeats will come in time. Don't forget wear & tear on your vehicle and the cost adds up. While your guys are driving to another job I will have made another $500... lol to the bank.
There was a time I used to drive where ever to find a job. Last time gas went up I shrank my territory and concentrated my advertising in that condensed area and found out that at the end of the year I had actually made more money.

Thats all true Marcus, but if you make $500.00 on a job in your immediate area, I travel 30 miles and make $1000.00, plus pick up more very profitable jobs on the same street then I have been very profitable. I never drive far to 'find' a job. But if people call me from out of my immediate area, and I can see the house on my computer and quote them over the phone, and they accept my price, I'm gonna make the drive.

To be very clear, if I can get to the point of doing half a million a year without traveling more than 20-30 miles, I will. I can't wait. Till then.....
