Down here in Florida that is indicutive of heat from lighting on a porch or in an attic. It has been found sometimes grow lights in attics cause excess heat under the shingles and kills the algae. Now what are they growing in their attic?

Wow? Serious?? I thought maybe the way the sun hit the roof through the threes or something. That is hilarious. I would never have thought that. That will change my whole sales pitch to these people...lol

Here is my guess... That roof had a very thick mat of pine straw/debris on it which was recently removed. The GM did not grow under the pine straw. I have seen this on a few rehab properties I have cleaned in the past with neglected roofs. That roof is pretty low pitched and the pine straw would just sit up there if not cleaned off regularly. Sometimes you'll notice this to a lesser concept on roof valleys that are packed with leaves, the singles are clean under the debris.

We have seen that as well. I have noticed that the funk will not grow at all under spanish moss mats.
I will try to take a picture of a shopping center that RACKED my brains over the years of driving by it every day. It had exact 2 x 3 squares clean in the roof at every door on the center.
One day I actually stopped and saw there was a 2 x 3 lighting fixture under every spot. They put a new roof and its getting dirty now too except.......you guessed it, right where the lights are.
Saw this roof across the street from a roof wewere cleaning last week. Found the perfectly round circles to be odd.
