One of my customers had a puff-back; which he escribed as soot blowing back down his chimeny. It was from his oil furnace. It went throughout his house and even made it to his attic and was vented through his gable vents. I'm cleaning his roof in spring and just a small area around the aluminum siding by the vents. Would the normal 1% SH work or the gutter grenade? Photo attached.
tim i would not use gutter gernade. I would try the sh first then i would try a lite mix of sodium hydroxide. You are going to have to clean the whole side or else it wont look even.

Thanks AC I'm trying to be your next pro staffer. Now I just need to get me one of those sweet sws systems. Maybe by June or July. Just bought a new 8 gpm machine so have to wait.

A little brushing with a pole may do the trick too! The Greenwash/surfactant will remove the soot more so than the SH.

be careful on how you brush it. With it being alum. siding there are things that could happen..

I have used EachoChem's OneRestore with good results on aluminum. Careful, it's an acid.
