That's awesome bob. Good luck with it. Should be a huge time saver and money saver as well.

I was really surprised when my Univar rep told how long the 53 gal. drums can sit before they are shipped. Very honest guy!
He also set me up with Grainger for the safety shower, and got me the Univar discount through Grainger. I don't know if all reps are like that, but I couldn't be happier with how easily this process has gone.
I met the GM for the mid Atlantic also. His name is Sam Allen, real nice guy. Told me how many SWS events he has attended and about AC's connection to Univar.
Makes me feel good about possibly getting SWS points through Univar one day. I see this happening.
Also found out Univar will be moving into the Pacific NW this spring.

Good for you, Bob! I also am having one installed this spring, though not as big. I'm putting in a 250 gallon. I am going to be trying to move to CH more, due to costs here. Form Univar, in bulk, I will still be paying $4.10/gallon. This is almost a buck better than I was paying for 55's last year, though.

Their pricing is up and down all over the country. We were at $2.72 per gal. in drums. And will be at $2.13 in bulk. I see what you're up against Chad.
I wonder if SWS could reign this in if they were able to strike a deal with Univar?
Any thing to add, AC?

Yes Bob.
I will contact Univar next week to look into centralized pricing and billing through the shopping cart system.

I looked at the feasibility of this and Bleach is a commodity and not really good for us to get into right now. However I will work on a SAWS in-network discount with Univar for our in-network companies.

I get great pricing down here but I would love to do the mini bulk just from a time standpoint. I waited in line for 20 minutes to pay for my bleach last time, not counting driving there. Heck, I would hang some soap on that shower and use it after a hard days work Bob :)

Brian,
Running the bleach through us will not be feasible. However we will work with Univar to see what kind of special program we can drive to help you all save some money. So as of now no points on bleach.
We are getting ready for Spring at Bob Riddick Roofing!
We had the safety shower installed last week, and this morning our 1000 gal. Mini Bulk Tank arrived from Univar.
We had been buying in 53 gal. drums and never quite sure how fresh our bleach was. In drums it can sometimes sit for a while before it's delivered.
What starts out as 12 1/2%, can easily become 8%. Nothing but fresh and hot from here on out.
The beauty of this program is that Univar will deliver and set the tank at NO CHARGE. And the bleach is sixty cents less per gallon!
I recommend you look into this if you have the space. Safety shower is required.
