Macy's Store Exterior Cleaning in New Jersey with The Roof Wizard....

The Roof Wizard was contracted to clean this Macy's Department Store recently. We cleaned the entire store, that is also attached to a very busy mall, in just 9 hours total clean time. They had hired a different contractor after the initial bids were sent in, as we were the highest bid of the five they received. The Roof Wizard was the only bidder to submit a softwash process proposal, all other bidders were using high pressure and lifts. The low bidder was only on site for one day, and his contract was terminated by Macy's. They only completed half of one side and left thousands of wand marks on the precast walls. The noise was also a big issue too, because the loud gas engines were disrupting the Macy's business inside the entrances and they had many complaints from customers. Our crews softwashed the entire building in 9 hours total, including set up and breaking down, four different times. We used very little Green Wash, but lots of Terra wash, because it was mostly emissions and debris on the precast. We also went through just under 300 gallons of SH. We have bids into five other Macy's stores, and hopefully will be getting contracts based on the results at this one.

Looks awesome Roof Wizard. We have some Macy's stores around here in need of our services as well. Nice to know that there are some Macy's stores that are committed to getting the work done.

Carlos, I solicit this type of business. It is a long process typically, and it can be frustrating, but it can also be very rewarding. you need to start with on site facility people and work up to who actually make the decisions. It can take months to get anywhere and a lot of dead ends, but keep the pressure on. This Macys took me 14 months to make happen. Now that I know their purchasing process the rest will be easier.

Thank you for sharing, John! And I appreciate you speaking to the difficulty and length of process to get to this end result. It can be discouraging for us newbies to feel like this kind of project is attainable when it seems that all we hear about it is you guys saying, "They hired us and we did it." It's only by hearing about your 14 month, frustrating process or by talking personally with Brandon and others that I've come to understand that you guys (5 Star Companies) are working soo hard even now for the opportunities you are getting.

And that opened the door for Soft Washing other Macy's stores versus pressure washing. I'm glad they saw that even though your cost was the highest, it was still be best value.

Very nice work John. Looks like you did it during business hours also. That adds even more difficulty to the project. When you have time, would you mind elaborating on how you handled the public during this project, and how many extra personnel it took to deal with them?

Great job John. Macy's was a big customer of ours as well back when I was still on the service side of the softwash biz.
How was that new Blend Module performing on this project? I see it was in the back of your truck in a few of the pix.

Thanks AC!! The blend unit sprayed pretty much all day. It kept spraying when the other trucks were mixing tanks, which helped cut our time down dramatically.
